Listed in The Age's Good Food Guide for 2002, Pacific Rim Thai is the perfect spot to explore real Thai cuisine. Freshness is the essence of the restaurant's consistency. Only home-prepared curry pastes \are used to flavour the dishes, all ingredients come straight from the market, and none of the meals are made in advance. Entrees are made on the premises, right down to the dipping sauce.

The menu features such favourites as a sensational green chicken curry with kaffir lime leaves, fresh veg­ gies and a basil-based coconut milk. Pacific Run also serves more unusual dishes, including gai bai tey (vodka-infused chicken marinated in soy, mountain pepper leaf, garlic and honey, wrapped in pandan leaves) and pad gra pow (double-cooked roast Peking duck with sauteed fresh vegetables, sweet chilli chut­ ney and sweet basil leaves).

Presentation is as important to Pacific Rim Thai as freshness, so your meal will look as good as it tastes. Thai cuisine is also fantastically healthy. Licensed and BYO, Pacific Rim Thai is open seven nights a week from 5.30pm, and for lunch or private functions by appointment.
